I Need A New Career! But Have 0 Skills!

Do you want to take charge of your personal and professional future?


Are you ready to learn new skills and advance your career opportunities?


Do you have a great work ethic and ability to learn quickly, but are tired of being told you “don’t qualify” for certain positions?


Check out the Workforce training programs offered at Tidewater Community College! TCC offers professional certifications, apprenticeships, and military transition services. Through the Job Skills Training Program, you can learn skills and earn certifications to improve your employability, change careers, or advance in your current career.


The JSTP offers three credential programs tracks: 8-12 week programs, 1-day certifications, and specialized programs. Funding and financial assistance is available for 8-12 week programs while the 1-day certification programs have varying costs. The specialized programs are to serve the city jails and juvenile detention centers.


If you are curious and want to learn more, every first Wednesday of the month, TCC hosts a virtual “Workforce Power Hour Informational Sessions” from 1pm - 2pm.

If you are interested in advanced manufacturing, check out their On Ramp program! According to the TCC website, you qualify for free tuition and books for the On Ramp program, if you are over 18 years of age, meet the Selective Service Requirements, are eligible for unemployment benefits, be eligible to work in the U.S, be a dislocated worker, and not in default on student loans.


Don’t let finances stop you from your goals! If finances are a barrier, TCC understands and offers a variety of financial aid options to qualifying individuals and businesses. Through their Fast Forward, Workforce’s FANTIC Financial Assistance Program, and their Incumbent Worker Innovation Program, there are several options available!
